“On Ratification of the Agreement (in the Form of Exchange of Notes) between the Government of Ukraine and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on Participation in the Work of the Steel Committee”

The Agreement (in the Form of Exchange of Notes) between the Government of Ukraine and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on Participation in the Work of the Steel Committee (hereinafter referred to as “Agreement”) was signed on November 23, 2006.

The Law ratifies the Agreement.

According to the Agreement, the Steel Committee functions on the basis of the appropriate commissions of the Convention on the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the Resolution of the Steel Committee Founding Board. Ukraine shall participate in the work of the Committee on equal terms with member states of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, by:
  • agreeing to collaborate to fulfill the mandate within the scope of the Steel Committee activity and, in particular, by providing other members and the Committee with information requires to carry out tasks, and by participating in the implementation of new activities of the Committee; and by
  • implementing respective multilateral recommendation documents.

The amount of Ukraine’s contributions to the Committee funds will be calculated according to the OECD regulations, to adhere to the Council Resolution on contribution for permanent observer states and partial members to the Subsidiary Bodies of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
