On Adopting the Resolution of the President of Ukraine on Commissioning the Peacekeeping Force of Ukraine to Provide for Ukraine's Participation in Cross-Border Operations as Part of the Inter-Mission Cooperation between the UN Mission in Liberia and the UN Operation in Cte d'Ivoire

According to clause 23, part 1, Article 85 of the Constitution of Ukraine and Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine "On Ukraine's Participation in International Peacekeeping Operations", resolutions of the President of Ukraine to commission a peacekeeping force to provide for Ukraine's participation in an international peacekeeping operation are subject to approval by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

The Law adopts the Resolution of the President of Ukraine regarding commissioning part of the national force of Ukraine acting as part of the UN Mission in Liberia, to provide for Ukraine's participation in the UN Operation in Cte d'Ivoire and cross-border operations, as part of the inter-mission cooperation between the UN Mission in Liberia and the UN Operation in Cte d'Ivoire, during the term determined by the United Nations Security Council, until July 31, 2013.

According to the Law, expenses related to Ukraine's participation in the UN Operation in Cte d'Ivoire and cross-border operations as part of the inter-mission cooperation between the UN Mission in Liberia and the UN Operation in Cte d'Ivoire are financed from the State Budget of Ukraine and subsequently compensated by the United Nations Organization.
