On Agreements on the Alienation of a Land Portion

The Law of Ukraine On Agreements on the Alienation of a Land Portion (hereinafter referred to as the Law) dated January 18, 2001, became invalid on January 8, 2004.

The present Law aimed at ensuring the implementation of requirements of the Constitution of Ukraine related to the guarantees for the right for land.

The present Law established that, before the regulation of the procedure for Ukrainian nationals and legal entities to exercise their rights for a land portion by the Land Code of Ukraine, owners of land portions temporarily cannot conclude agreements on purchase and sale or gift of a land portion or otherwise alienate the above-mentioned land portions, except for their demise and in the instance of a purchase of land plots for state and public needs.
